Technical Training Engineer

Core Role Summary

Develop and continually tailor, deliver and execute market leading training for Baumit UK working collaboratively with the broader team to help entice more customers, conduct site inspection, and site audits and support the Training Function and general needs of the business leaning on the skills of the Technical Training Engineer.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Delivery of Baumit UK technical and practical training programs in all locations.
  • Work with health and safety representatives to ensure all heath and safety is compliant in the training academy locations.
  • Ensure all stock levels are correct to deliver training courses and samples are requested through the correct procedures for traceability.
  • Control of tools and equipment at local training academy with regular stock takes.
  • Support the ‘Call to Action’ complimenting the pull for training with Marketing and taking the lead with delegates liaising with all candidates / customers prior to training courses.
  • Ensure all training areas are clean, maintained and ready for the next course, report any defects and action accordingly to ensure a consistent professional environment.
  • Work on projects with other parts of the business to ensure BAUMIT UK are up to date and compliant to the latest legislation.
  • Attend meetings / site visits with customers and clients, advising of best practice and record accordingly with site reporting and audit writing.
  • Report and communicate to the wider business of potential issues and opportunities, identifying options / solutions to collaboratively resolve.
  • Ability to resolve site and onsite issues. 
  • Flexibility to cover training at all academies / site visits, supporting the team requirements with nights away from home. 
  • Ad-hoc projects to support the wider business, utilising the skills of the technical training engineer.
  • Be responsible for checking and validating warranties before signing off and issuing accordingly using the appropriate company systems. 
  • Provide technical and practical telephone and email support to the office based Technical team as required. 
  • Deliver training courses using the training trailer within the specific locations and presenting the trailer at open days for the BDM’s. 
  • To be confident in towing the trailer across the multiple locations.
  • Deliver specialised machine training courses, utilising knowledge of rendering and plastering machines.
  • Adhering to agreed KPIs with the Head of Training.
  • Implement any additional responsibility agreed with the Head of Training.                

Deliverables

  • Ensure all training is delivered on time and in full to up-to-date procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all reports and information.
  • Communicate collaboratively with the wider business sharing plans / feedback as required.
  • Ensure all course paperwork and all information pertaining to training is sent to Head office and actioned accordingly.

Skills

  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal) including ability to work with people from a non-trade background.
  • Ambitious, proactive, and forward thinking with the drive to continuously improve.
  • First class practical and technically astute demonstration skills.
  • Have a strong rendering and plastering trade background and knowledge of our competition, sharing with the company to aid sales argumentation for Baumit UK.
  • Able to take a proactive approach in building relationships and comfortable working cross-functionally and liaising with management supporting the needs of the business.
  • Be able to work on your own and manage own diary for effective productivity.

Development Needs

  • Atlas health & safety training 

Must Have

  • Must hold current CSCS card.
  • Working at height certificate
  • First Aid Trained (training provided if needed)
  • Driving license
  • Competent with Microsoft packages i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Field Based
Territory covering Southern half of England, down from and including postcodes GL, OX, NN, LE, NG and PE.

Hours

35.5 hours p/w (excl. Lunch)
Monday - Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
Friday: 08:30 – 14:30
