Warehouse Operative

Core Role Summary

As a Warehouse Operative you will be receiving, storing and dispatching goods and products in a warehouse. You will need to ensure that orders are shipped to customers OTIF and without damage, whilst keeping all other duties running.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities
  • Picking & packing of customer orders (picking, final finish, packaging, checking, loading and administration)
  • Handle ‘goods in’ (unloading, checking, storing and administration) from suppliers.
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Production of samples in a timely manner in line with customer requirements
  • Forklift, Counterbalance & Pallet Pedestrian Truck operation under the correct and safe working guidelines.
  • Ensuring that all equipment is safe and in full working order and any issues are reported to the warehouse manager as soon as possible.
  • Operating the tint machine under the correct and safe working guidelines
  • Ensuring that all goods that are loaded / unloaded match the relevant paperwork.
  • Storing and rotating stock according to company procedures
  • Reporting any damaged or missing goods to the Warehouse manager
  • Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment (Forklift, tinting machine, mixers, packaging equipment)
  • Keeping the outside area round the Baumit Office / Warehouse area neat and tidy and weed free.
  • Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
  • Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules, and schedules
  • Assisting with warehouse inventory controls
  • Always treating stock with care and concern
  • Doing visual inspections of all racking to ensure any faults are reported to the warehouse manager so they can be repaired in a timely manner.
  • Assisting customers to load / unload orders onto there delivery vehicles. 
  • Any other tasks as directed by management.

Deliverables:
  • Timely and accurate picking / packing and dispatching of customer orders is sent OTIF with a 98% accuracy.
  • Inventory Stock Rotations to ensure no stock goes out of date.
  • Stock Management is maintained with a 99% accuracy.
  • Warehouse Health & Safety is always up to standard.
  • All warehouse equipment is serviced / clean and in working order.
  • Team player with a core focus on promoting a positive and friendly environment.
 
Qualifications / Experience:
  • GCSE Math’s and English
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Interpersonal skills – the ability to work well in a team.
  • Experienced with a good understanding of warehouse activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments ensuring all orders are completed to a high standard.
  • Ideally previous warehouse experience
  • Good timekeeper and able to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work quickly, accurately and safely.
  • Valid Certificate for a Counterbalance Forklift & Pump Truck is desirable but not a must.

Monday - Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
Friday: 08:30 – 14:30
