Baumit’s training academy, which offers a unique learning opportunity in all aspects of External Wall Insulation, has opened its doors to its first intake of candidates.
Based in a purpose-built facility at the company’s UK headquarters in Aylesford, Kent the academy programme has three course levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold - offering theoretical and practical experience in a wide range of EWI systems and practices.
The academy not only provides those within the construction industry the chance to learn new skills in a series of ‘real-life’ work-based scenarios, candidates who complete the Gold course will become a Baumit-approved partner which allows access to the company’s product marketing materials and gain OSCAR Onsite overview approval. Lee Caudle of TLC Home Improvements attended the Baumit training academy earlier this year. This was his experience:
“I first heard about Baumit’s training academy during a visit to the Homebuilding and Renovating Show. It seemed like an excellent opportunity to gain more practical knowledge and experience in EWI systems and rendering. We were not disappointed. The course not only made us aware of Baumit’s product range, it taught us the techniques to optimise their performance when it came to installing them. I learnt a great deal from the technical advice provided by Baumit’s experts throughout the course. I’ve taken this advanced knowledge into my day-to-day work, which has proved extremely useful.
Prior to visiting the academy I’d experimented with Baumit products on my own project, but hadn’t used them commercially. Now I use them throughout my work, applying them using the techniques I learnt through the Baumit course. The academy also enabled me to make a number of new business leads, and it also means I’m now a Gold-approved partner which allows access to a range of excellent benefits, helping me develop an excellent relationship with Baumit and its products. I thoroughly recommend Baumit’s training academy to anyone with designs on expanding their practical experience and knowledge of EWI processes.”
Baumit has a wide selection of available training dates for 2018 designed specifically to cover theoretical and practical elements of EWI. Specialist courses can also be carried out by appointment.
