This building was designed by Maks Czeike. An architect of German heritage, Maks Czeike, was, according to extant records, educated at the Vienna Academy under Otto Wagner, and made his mark on the city of Maribor between the wars. The villa was owned by Maribor’s first mayor, Dr Juvan. It was built to Czeike’s design in 1902 and is known today as the Juvan Villa. The developer began with a complete refurbishment, adding earthquake protection and energy renovation elements, and fully preserving the original exterior and interior staircase. The building now houses IT company premises. The new floor plan opens out the partition walls and uses banks of light to reveal the rooms. Glass walls divide the interior into an ostensibly open and airy space.
